Trim your wick to ¼” before each use once the candle has completely cooled. This helps your candle last longer, reduce soot and a smoky, large flame.
Discard wick trimmings and make sure it doesn’t fall into the candle bed.
To prevent tunneling (and wasting of any of the candle wax) allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar with each burn. This is most important on the first burn! (If your candle does tunnel, watch the video above for a fix.)
Always burn candle within sight. Keep away from things that catch fire. Keep away from children and pets.
Remove all packaging before burning. Place on temperature-safe surface. Avoid handling the vessel after lit, as it can become very hot to the touch. Keep away from drafts.
Do not burn more than 4 hours at a time. Stop burning when ¼” of wax remains, otherwise it can overheat the jar.
You can give your jar new life once the candle is complete! Prep your container by cleaning out the wax by placing in the freezer overnight or placing in a small pot of simmering water to melt.
If frozen, simply use a butter knife to break out remaining wax and wick. If melted, carefully pour excess wax in the trash and remove the wick with a spoon or butter knife. Then, wipe the jar clean with a paper towel and hand wash any residue. It's ready to reuse! (*If you'd like to remove the candle label, Goo Gone can help.)
Recycle your vessel as a planter (add some small rocks for drainage before adding soil), a pencil holder, makeup brush holder, store sweets, or anything else you can think of!
