ABOUT THE ART
Still Life with Roses is an oil on canvas painting by Elias van den Broeck, a Dutch Golden Age still life painter mainly known for his flower pieces. He trained in the Dutch Republic and worked for some time in Antwerp in the Habsburg Netherlands where he moved with his master Jan Davidsz. de Heem. He later returned to Amsterdam where he found success in floral painting, as well as other subjects like fruit, forest floor, mushrooms, and banquet still lifes.
